“Everyone deserves to live a life of peace and safety. Let’s break the cycle of violence against women for good.”
December 6th is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
On this day in 1989, 14 young women were massacred at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal. It was an act of violence against women that shocked the entire nation to its core.
35 years later, violence against women continues to rise across the country.
Anna Maria Tremonti, renowned Canadian broadcast journalist, sat down with us to take us through the experience of covering these tragic events and the importance of providing survivors of intimate partner violence with the resources and support they need to rebuild their lives.

“When you see the statistics of how many people have been helped at Interval House, you realize you can make a difference. Because behind every number is a person, a story of a family. Your donation to Interval House has an impact on those individual families, looking for a future. Interval House is more than a shelter; it’s a safe place to begin again. It is a place to get a fresh start.”
